Principal’s Message

Gate 1

It will be wonderful to have the new security camera and intercom installed before Christmas. In order to complete the installation, there may be some days we will all need to use Gate 2 during the construction and excavation phase. While I cannot confirm dates as yet, alerts will be sent through SchoolZine App to inform families when we are advised. I know you will all be pleased to hear this update and happy to work with the school while these changes are facilitated in readiness for 2023.

Fond Farewell…

Thank you to our outgoing P&C members Mrs Emmy Druce, Mrs Nicole Melidonis and Mrs Tracy-Lee Reaper. These wonderful ladies have contributed to the P&C for many years and worked tirelessly in formal positions and behind the scenes. These ladies have been P&C stars and we sadly wish them a fond farewell as their children start their high school journeys.

Amazing SIPPS P&C

It may be edging towards the end of the school year, however our SIPPS P&C President has continued to apply for many community grants. HyeCorp have awarded a grant to the P&C towards the community access to the tennis courts. Please see the P&C communication in this newsletter for further details.

Kind regards,

Lost property

Due to the warmer weather, the lost property bins are overflowing with jackets and lunch boxes/bottles. You are most welcome to come in with your child of a morning to check it.

This may be a good time to also check that your child has their own jacket and hat, please return any items that do not belong to you to the office.

We also have a prescription pair of Rayban sunglasses as well as various watches and tidbits that have been lost over the year that have not been claimed.

Anything not claimed by the end of the year will be disposed of.

Tennis Court Grant Won

The P&C have been working for some time to enable community use of the school tennis courts out of hours once again. The plan to install additional gates to allow access outside of the school fenced area has been priced at $5,000. We recently were very lucky to be awarded a grant of $2,000 from HyeCorp in Chatswood which is a significant amount to start the project. The P&C will be working on other ways to fundraise the remaining funding required.

We are working with Solar My School and Ku-ring-gai council on a longer term plan to install solar across as much of the usable roof space as possible. We hope that with some good fundraising and support from external agencies that SIPPS will be powered by the sun!
