Principal’s Message
World Teacher’s Day
Last Friday was World Teacher’s Day. Our teachers at SIPPS are very dedicated and consistently strive to make a difference for every child in our school. All our students are known, valued and cared for as our teachers know all our students. Our teachers bring great enthusiasm to their roles as class teachers, sports teachers, music, art and choir teachers. It takes a great deal of dedication and stamina to continue as a teacher.
Our SIPPS P&C kindly gave our staff special cookies. Thank you again to the P&C for recognising the wonderful work the teachers do to support our students here at SIPPS.
Thank you to all our SIPPS teachers for their dedication and passion as teachers!
Teachers who love teaching, teach students to love learning.
Congratulations Mrs Fazzolari
Mrs Fazzolari has received an Executive Director’s School Performance Recognition Award for service to the school and community. Mrs Fazzolari received the award for the Pittwater Network for her commitment to our school and the wider SASS teams on the North Shore. Wonderful news and a well-deserved award.
Fingers Crossed
Congratulations to Finn W who has achieved his personal goal to attend the PSSA National competition in Brisbane this term. Finn is the State PSSA Champion for shot put and we wish him every success at the next level of competition. Go Finn!
Parent Literacy and Numeracy information session
We are looking forward to welcoming parents to the Information Session tomorrow night. Please see the Assistant Principal’s message for more details. Please RSVP via the SchoolBytes email link sent last week to all families.
Band
The Senior Band performed at the Wahroonga Food & Wine Festival yesterday afternoon. Their set included Star Wars and Jurassic Park.
Our SIPPS band students were a credit to our school. It was another wonderful opportunity for our band to perform, this time in front of a larger audience.
Thank you to Kate for organising these opportunities for our students.

Behaviour Strategy – The Care Continuum
Our staff are working through the Behaviour Strategy’s Care Continuum which supports students in all NSW public schools.
The care continuum includes interventions for all student to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment. Some students may require early intervention and targeted intervention to support their interactions with peers and staff in the school setting. A few students may demonstrate complex or challenging behaviours and these students may require intense individual interventions and external specialised support to enable them to engage with their learning.
At SIPPS we have already been working within the expectations of the Care Continuum to support students and will continue to engage with families and students using these practices.
Kind regards,
Caroline English

Selective High School Applications for 2024
Selective high schools cater for academically gifted students with high potential who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates at their own academic standard. Selective high schools help these students to learn by grouping them with students of similar ability and by using specialised teaching methods.
If you would like to have your child considered for Year 7 selective high school entry in 2024, you need to apply on the internet using a valid email address (not the student’s email address). Applications opened on 18 October 2022 and close on 16 November 2022. You must apply before the closing date.
Kindy Orientation
It has been very exciting to welcome students and families to the Kindergarten Orientation sessions. Students spent the sessions in the K Rainbow room with Mrs Follows, becoming familiar with their new classroom, engaging in exciting activities and making new friends.
Parents and carers had the opportunity to discover how English and Mathematics are taught at SIPPS, meet staff, gather information about the first year of learning at primary school and start making connections with other families.
Kindy Orientation was also a brilliant opportunity for our older students to shine. Thank you to the following students:
- Ryan and Aryan - Tech Team
- Hunter and Nicole - Sound and lighting
- Jo - Piano
- Choir - House at Pooh Corner
- 4/5 Emerald - Dance, Men in Black
- Avnita - Soloist
- K Rainbow - Song, Gold
- Presenters of the Top Ten Tips for Kindy - Ava, Archer, Victoria, Fraser, Erin and Chelsea
- School Leadership Team - Greeting families and interacting with students
Thank you to Stewart Duncan, P&C President, Tanya O’Brien, Uniform Shop Coordinator, her team and all staff for supporting students performing at the sessions.
Regards,
Alison Wright & Leanne Hayllar

Ocean Day is a day to recognise the work of the Australian Marine Conservation Society. The Australian Marine Conservation Society do a very important job, helping coral reefs and saving marine life.
We should all be thankful for their enthusiasm for saving our planet. We really appreciate your support so that St Ives Park Public School can continue to contribute to protecting our environment.
On Thursday, 3 November, students can wear blue to school. Please bring a gold coin donation.
Regards

SIPPS 2022 Family Camp Out
Huge thank you to everyone who attended the SIPPS Family Camp Out. We were very lucky with the weather! A special thanks to Stewart for all his hard work planning the event and all the volunteers and helpers who chipped in to make it such a success. It would not be possible to put on such events if it were not for the volunteers who put their hand up to help out.
Whether it was your first time camping or you are a seasoned camper, we hope that everyone had a wonderful time.
Please remember, should you have any feedback we would love to hear it. Please email us at stivesparkpc@gmail.com
SIPPS P&C AGM
Wed 16 Nov
The P&C Annual General Meeting will be held on Wed 16 Nov at the St Ives Bowling Club.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Please join us from 6.30pm for a drink and to celebrate the successes we have had this year as a community. Formal meeting proceedings commence at 7pm.
This year we have a number of long serving volunteers leaving the school as their kids head off to high school, so we are seeking new members for 2023 so we can continue supporting SIPPS the best we can.

P&C Upgrade to the school hall
Thank you to everyone who attended the SIPPS Spectacular. The money raised (from entry ticket sales) has gone towards some upgrades to the Audio-Visual systems in the school hall. So far, the stage lighting upgrade has taken place. Over the next few months, we will also be upgrading the audio and visual systems. These upgrades are a joint project between the school and the P&C.
Year 6 Parents – Photo slideshow
The Year 6 Farewell Party team are looking to put together a slideshow to showcase the kid’s time at SIPPS. If you have photographs you would like to include, please can you email them to: sduncan@outlook.com.au with the subject: Yr 6 farewell.
Photographs of the kids when they were younger would be great, in addition to any more recent pictures you may have.
World Teacher’s Day
Our teachers have shown great resilience during recent challenging times so they can give our children the best future possible.
The SIPPS P&C recognised the teachers at SIPPS on Friday 28th October by celebrating World Teachers Day with the staff and providing each of them with a box of delicious cookies.
