Principal’s Message
Dear Parent and Carers,
Kindergarten 2021 Orientation Session #2
We are looking forward to welcoming our 2021 Kindergarten students back to school on 17th November from 9:30am to 10:30am.
Each of our 2021 Kinder students took a little Sippi Bear home with them as a momento of their visit.
Miss Mills has developed a Google Drive for our 2021 Kindergarten Parents as part of the orientation package. This includes information which would normally be shared with parents at the Parent Orientation sessions which we are unable to undertake in 2020.
Following the current guidelines:
- Only students enrolled at St Ives Park Public School are able to attend.
- Visiting 2021 K are not to mix with currently enrolled students.
- Parents of 2021 Kinders are only to drop off and collect students from the designated locations.
- Parents dropping and collecting are not able to remain on school site beyond 10 minutes.
- Social distancing for all adults is expected.
Everyday Maths
The Department of Education has recently developed an Everyday maths website for parents. It has a range of activities for parents to support student learning in Mathematics at home.
https://education.nsw.gov.au/campaigns/mathematics/domain
Maths is used every day in almost everything we do. Parents and carers can support their child's mathematical skills and understanding with these fun, practical and creative activities.
Parents can encourage their children to observe Mathematics at work around the home and put their skills to use with fun indoor activities. There are a range of activities at each Stage level.
Wishing parents and students fun with mathematics!
Parent Surveys
Thank you to all parents and /or carers for your input regarding the parent surveys.
Stay safe and well,

2021 Leadership Nominations
In weeks 3 & 4 all our Year 5 students participated in leadership information sessions with Ms English & Mrs Field. These sessions are designed to inform students of the high expectations, responsibilities and expectations of students in the school’s leadership team.
Today all our Year 5 students have taken home a Leadership Nomination information pack. This contains all necessary information both parents and students need to know if they intend on applying for our 2021 leadership team. Parents please read over this information carefully and discuss with your child.
For students intending on applying, signed nomination forms must be returned to school by Friday 20 November. Please be aware students leaders do need to have photography permission.

EAL/D Program
The English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) program at SIPPS is a specialist program for students whose first language is a language or dialect other than English. EAL/D students require specific support to build the English language skills needed to access the general curriculum, in addition to learning area-specific language structures and vocabulary.
At SIPPS we use a variety of assessments to determine those students who require additional support to assist them to develop proficiency in English. Our EAL/D students already speak one or more languages or dialects other than English. This language knowledge is an advantage when learning an additional language and, along with their life experiences and diverse cultural knowledge, provides learners with resources upon which to build their English language, literacy and educational development
At SIPPS we provide learning experiences that reflect the identities and experiences of all students in the classroom. Our EAL/D students are provided with additional support through small group withdrawal or assistance in class. All teaching is tailored to meet individual learning needs to assist our EAL/D students to be successful learners.
