Thank you Morning Tea
It was just lovely to see so many of our volunteers and helpers at the thank you morning tea last week. This is a small token from our SIPPS staff for all the work that occurs behind the scenes which makes SIPPS so wonderful.
If you were unable to attend on the day, please accept my thanks on behalf of the administration and teaching staff here at SIPPS. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2020!

Classes 2020
The school Executive and Class Teachers have commenced the process of class placement for 2020. A range of academic and social information to develop our classes. My overall expectation across the whole school is to ensure a safe learning environment with a suitably qualified teacher who has high expectations for all students in their care.
Our anticipated planning for 2020 at this time indicates that we should be able to form 7 classes as in 2019.
If you have not informed the school that you are relocating schools for 2020, please do so with great urgency as student enrolments affect staff and class organisation in all DET schools.
Student Leadership Opportunities
Our Year 5 students have all completed the leadership lessons with Mrs Woodwell and myself. We have been discussing the qualities and responsibilities required of our Year 6 students as they work with all classes in the Peer Support program and as Kindergarten Buddies. Our school leaders, Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects will be formally announced at the Presentation Evening on 11th December which commences at 5:30 pm in the hall.
2020 Enrolments
SIPPS is accepting enrolments for 2020. If you have a child who will be attending our school in 2020 and they are not yet enrolled, please contact the office to arrange enrolment.

PSSA
Congratulations to all the PSSA students
5/6Red are participating in a 20 Day Kindness Challenge. This week one of the challenges was to write a piece for the school newsletter detailing why you enjoy and value school life.
Daniela wrote:
St Ives Park Pubic School is a kind and fun school. I enjoy the teachers because they help us but first they say we should give it a go. They are encouraging and kind and they always do fun things with us. I also enjoy the good opportunities such as PSSA, dance, art, music and library. I love that Year 6 get to lead assemblies and I am grateful for having Kindy buddies. I value the school because staff and students are always helpful, kind, caring, fun and everyone holds the schools expectations of respect, responsibility and personal best.
Dance workshop
On Monday the 4th of November we went to a dance workshop run by Ban dance academy. We arrived at 8:30 to sign in and started dancing at 9:00. The styles of dance we did was lyrical, musical theatre and contemporary. We enjoyed all classes as they were very fun but we enjoyed contemporary the most. We had breaks in between classes for food and to rest. Thank you teachers for this amazing experience at the workshop.

Personalised Brick Paving
As many of you would have seen at the wonderful SIPPS 50th Display yesterday, as part of the 50th birthday we are offering the opportunity to have a named paver at SIPPS. There are plans to create a lovely new path /garden up the centre of the school (where the old climbing frame was) and for the flagpole to be moved. The plan is to place the named pavers either around the flagpole or along the path – depending on the number of engraved pavers we have. There are 2 options – formal or a free style style. If you look closely at the pavers on the picture you can see both. For freestyle – the children can write their names and draw a little picture – for those interested I will furnish more details of the process.
We are selling these pavers at $30 each or $50 for 2. Each paver allows for 48 characters. The display paver is at the office if you would like to have a closer look.
Typically pavers will either have the invididual childs name “Cora Lily Reaper” maybe with the year they started at school “Cora Lily Reaper 2016” or just the family name “The Reaper Family 2015 ” or “Declan, Braedon & Cora Reaper 2015” etc.
This is open to anyone who attended this school – past or present – so please feel free to forward on to any of you friends who previously attended SlPPS.
Please feel free to mail bricks4sipps@gmail.com with any questions or to further your order. We will create the facility to buy a paver via QKR or via EFT.
