Principal’s Message
Congratulations to Year 6
Our Year 6 students have recently completed their transition to Year 7 Stage Coach program. Over the last 5 weeks, they visited St Ives High School to experience classes and conditions at high school. Teachers and students from St Ives HS were on hand to offer advice and assistance to our students during these visits. Our students keenly demonstrated their readiness for attending secondary school. I wish them the very best as they transition into the next chapter of their life and learning journey.
Thank you to school prefects Amy and Ben who represented SIPPS in commemorating Remembrance Day at the Roseville Returned Servicemen’s Memorial Club.
Support Positive Behaviour for Learning
Our school community has high expectations of behaviour from students and all members of our school community. Positive behaviour is essential for the wellbeing of students and their learning outcomes. Our school systems and procedures are consistent with The Department of Education’s Wellbeing Framework, which states…
‘Our commitment to our students, parents and members of the community is that public schools will be teaching and learning environments that enable the development of healthy, happy, successful and productive individuals.
In turn, our students will be expected to contribute to their own wellbeing, the wellbeing of their peers and the collective wellbeing of their communities. In this way schools in partnership with parents and carers will equip children and young people to be active and positive contributors to the society in which they live’.
Our school reward system and management of challenging behaviours is consistent with the values that are important to establish a productive and harmonious society. Our students rely on our school expectations being supported by parents and teachers. Please support us in helping your child to learn and practice the values of Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best.
“Community engagement maximises how students connect, succeed and thrive.”

A World of Maths at SIPPS
It was great to see our whole school responding positively to mathematical challenges in our recent World of Maths Day event. Thank you to the many parents who volunteered their time to be involved and assist student teams to work mathematically on these challenges. Thank you to Mrs Myburgh for organising this event and to Year 6 students for successfully leading teams’ positive engagement.

Stage 1 Excursion to the Big Bad Wolf
On Wednesday 31st October, Stage 1 ventured to the city to see a play called the Big Bad Wolf at the Monkey Baa Theatre. The students discovered that this Big Bad Wolf was a vegetarian and poet who wanted to make friends with others not eat them! After watching the play the children enjoyed eating their lunch and playing on the equipment at the nearby Tumbalong Park. The spider-web, giant slide, flying fox and spinning swing were all a hit. We had a fabulous day and were lucky that the weather was just perfect. Big thanks to Mr T and Tanya (Brahm’s mum) for helping out on the day. Felix, Eden, Eloise and Lucas M. have shared their recount of the day.
