Principal’s Message

Thank you

Thank you to all those members of the school community who have sent best wishes and congratulations regarding news of my promotion which will commence from the beginning of the new school year.

The merit selection recruitment process for my replacement will begin this term. The Director Education Leadership, Andrew Stevenson will manage the process which includes appointing an Acting Principal via Expression of Interest until the position is permanently filled in Term 1, 2019.

Festival of Children’s Music

Congratulations to our Junior Choir and Senior Dance Group for their outstanding performances at The 2018 Festival of Children’s Music. As the festival’s President, I was extremely proud of SIPPS students’ conduct and contribution to the success of this year’s festival. Over 500 students showcased the enormous talent of students and teachers from over 14 schools across Northern Sydney school networks. Thank you to Miss Emerson, Mrs Shanahan and Mrs Meyers for training our choristers and dancers and giving up personal time to give SIPPS students the opportunity to be part of this extraordinary experience.

Leaders visit State Parliament House

Last Friday our School Captain and Vice-Captains visited State Parliament with other student leaders from schools in the Davidson electorate. They undertook a tour of both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council chambers and had the opportunity to meet the local state MP Jonathan O’Dea. Declan, Isobel & Matilda will share this experience as a presentation to the next K-6 assembly.

Remembrance 11 Nov

In 2018, 11 November marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). This Friday our school prefects Ben & Amy will attend the Returned Servicemen’s Memorial Club at Roseville to lay a poppy at the remembrance memorial on behalf of our school – ‘Lest We Forget’.

Taste of Kindy

We are looking forward to welcoming new Kindergarten 2019 students and their parents to the upcoming Taste of Kindy events. These will take place on Tuesday 20 and Tuesday 27 November from 9:10 to 11am. On the first visit while our 2019 Kindy cohort enjoy a taste of ‘big school’, parents will enjoy a school tour, uniform fashion parade. On the second there will be a school readiness information session for parents.

Thanks P&C

Thank you to our school P&C for running their successful Election Day fundraiser and for providing our teaching staff with a special thank you morning tea to celebrate National Teachers’ Day.

Please continue to support the P&C’s current fundraising raffle initiative. The date for returns of tickets and money has been extended two weeks, until Friday 16th November. The draw will now be held on Wednesday, 21st November at the P&C's final meeting/AGM.

I would like to acknowledge the tremendous work of our school’s P&C President, executive team and volunteers who have made a wonderful contribution of their time, talents and enthusiasm to support our school community this year. We look forward to the election of the 2019 P&C executive at the Annual General Meeting at 7:15pm on Wednesday 21 November

Inspiring & Nurturing
Successful Lifelong Learners

The Kindergarten Red Monkeys engineered their own monster which allowed them to think critically and problem solve. They used patty cakes as the foundation then they had a choice of added extras such as long and short pipe cleaners, googly eyes, jewels, pom poms and glitter confetti. The students had to decide whether the best material to hold their monster together with all its parts would be glue, craft glue or sticky tape. Each monster turned out completely unique with its own unique name and characteristics.

'My monster's name is Ray and he can shine lights like traffic lights' -Ayaan

'My monster has some hair and eyes and its name is Sidhu' -Jasleen

'I have triplet monsters. One of them has two eyes and it's name is JJ. Another monster is purple and its name is Kelly. My last monster has one eye and its name is Jess. They are all joined together by pipe cleaners' -Nicole

'My monster won the Beyblade battle. Its name is Eartheagle' -Woody

'My monster has tentacles and its called Slenderman' -Johnny

'My monster has four eyes, two pom poms, a straw and a pipe cleaner. Its name is Cupcake Dream' -Phoebe

'My monster is called Nammy. It has hearts and it has purple hands' -Evelyn

'My monster is friendly and cute. Its name is Ghosty' -Alicia

'My monster has an eyeball and a tail. Its name is Choppo' -Zec

'My monster is a pet and it is scary. Its name is Pet Monster' -Mitch

'My monster is cute and only has one eye. Its name is Pom Pom' -Blake

'My monster is green and it has one eye. Its name is Nancy' -Henry

'My monster is so powerful and it can smash things. Its name is Loanoor Elfor' -Jenson

'My monster's name is Pink. She is yellow and has blue stripes' -Keira

'My monster's name is Nammy' -Muzi
