SIPPS P&C - Effective Partnership
Our Parents and Citizen’s association provides positive advocacy for our school and its students. We are lucky that our parent body works hard to assist the school in the delivery of an enriched quality curriculum by volunteering their time and skills towards fundraising and social events.
Thank you to the P&C who met last week and donated over $40, 000 to fund the following resources in 2017:
New furniture and fittings for the multipurpose
classroom
New reading resources for all stage groups K-6
Two terms of implementing the successful Seed, Harvest, Spoon
Additional day of learning and support teaching

Every minute counts!
Arriving late to school can impede a student’s learning and be disruptive to other learners. Students demonstrate that they are responsible by being on time for school. Ideally students at SIPPS should arrive at school between 8:40 and 9:00am. School starts promptly at 9:10am and it is expected that all students are present at our morning assembly. The office staff will process all late arrivals and early leavers. Parents need to come with their child to the office if they are late to school. Thank you for your assistance.
Stairs repaired
External stairs have now been repaired providing safe access to our school office. Thanks to everyone for their patience whilst we were waiting for the job to be completed.
Best Wishes Mrs Shanahan
We send out our best wishes to Mrs Shanahan as she starts her maternity leave and embarks on a new and wonderful chapter in her life journey. We welcome Miss Diana Eim who will be teaching 3S while Mrs Shanahan is on leave.

Internet Safety Day
Tuesday the 7th of February was ‘Internet Safety Day’ with the theme for 2017 ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’.
3/4S got involved and united by discussing the issue of cyber bullying and safe practises when online. Students then created internet safety awareness posters. They also designed and created their own Emoji’s to represent themselves.
Sport
Sporting programs have commenced for this year. This term all students are enjoying a gymnastics program delivered by SportsPro teachers. This program meets all requirements of the Kindergarten to Year 6 PD/H/PE curriculum incorporating several of the content strands whilst also contributing specifically to the development of students muscular endurance, strength, power, flexibility, coordination, agility and balance. Students practise the 6 dominant movement patterns fundamental to all areas of gymnastics:
- Landings
- Static positions
- Swing
- Rotations
- Spring
- Height and/or flight
Notes from Office
Late Arrivals: Early Departures.
Students arriving late to school or leaving school early must be signed in/out by a parent at the office. Students arriving late cannot be taken direct to their classrooms or left at the school gates to make their way in to class. The office will issue a print-out voucher which needs to be handed to the class teacher to confirm the student has been signed in/out. This information is now incorporated into each student’s individual attendance records at school. As with any new system we have experienced a few teething problems but we are working our way through the issues. We would ask for your patience.
