Principal’s Message
Celebrating Learning Success at SIPPS
Once again this year our school community has engaged in positively supporting the school to achieve its vision of inspiring and nurturing successful lifelong learners, including the promotion of our school’s expectations of Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best. Our 21st Century learners have enjoyed opportunities to succeed and grow their academic, social, sporting and artistic potential through the delivery of an enriched and future-focused curriculum.
Last week’s presentation assemblies were an acknowledgement of what students have achieved through the application of a positive growth mindset or an ‘I can do it attitude’.
Through this approach students at SIPPS this year have learned to to say
- I can always improve
- I persevere when I am frustrated
- I am inspired by people to succeed
- My Effort and attitude makes all the difference
- Mistakes help me learn
- I like to challenge myself
- We can learn anything with effort
Thank you to our amazing teachers, administration and support staff who provide the inspiration to succeed for our students.
Thanks to the P&C and parent/community volunteers who assist and support the school to realise the big picture aspirations of building a positive and inclusive school culture.
Congratulations to all our students engaged in learning and grabbing every opportunity to make a positive difference to yourself, your school and your community. I am very proud to be Principal of this wonderful school.

Good bye & Best Wishes Mrs Anderson
Last week at our presentation assemblies the school community marked Mrs Anderson’s retirement with a special tribute from SIPPS students, staff and parents. We thank Mrs Anderson for her dedicated service to students during her many years at SIPPS and over 30 years of service to public education as a teacher and educational leader. We all wish her a long and happy retirement with much joy and many blessings.
2017 class planning
Class planning is continuing for 2017. Organisation will be finalised in the new school year after staffing is confirmed and the remainder of our new students have commenced. Currently our anticipated enrolment for 2017 is 188 students. Should we retain this number for the start of the 2017 school year, we will have the necessary staffing entitlement to form 8 classes.
The recruitment process for the new Assistant Principal is in its final stages and we anticipate that the successful candidate will commence their position at SIPPS in the first week of Term 1.

Inspiring & Nurturing Successful Lifelong Learners
Seed Harvest Spoon – Spoon time!
This year St Ives Park participated in Seed Harvest Spoon, a fun activity in which we learnt how to cook and garden. My favourite part was when we got the opportunity to cook a stir fry. It was delicious! The ingredients were noodles, vegies from the garden, a special sauce and herbs. The result was delicious!
Katherine
The best time at Seed Harvest Spoon was when we got to cook stir fry noodles! We used fresh vegies from the garden. Two students got to wash the vegies while three got to chop them. After they finished Michelle would choose another three students to take over. Once everything had been washed and chopped it was time for cooking! While it was cooking the aroma was delicious, but not as delicious as the noodles themselves!
Annie
Last Friday we went to Seed Harvest Spoon but this time we didn’t just learn about the garden, we got plants and made a meal! We picked some vegetables from the garden, washed and cut them up and then put them in a pan. We added a sauce and rice noodles, then mixed them all together and ate it. I really like trying new things because the food was really good.
